I am now enjoying a moment of tranquility in the office. My lunch date has decided to cancel the appointment at the last minute because “it’s raining cats and dogs”. In the past I would be very angry when someone gave me such an excuse. But now, I don’t mind that much cos that means I can have time for my own. A peaceful time is what I need most now, after an absolutely crazy morning.

During the first hour of the movie I asked my friends twice whether we had gone into a wrong cinema. The first part of the film focused on how Bruce Wayne (batman) tried to overcome his childhood fear and his guilt for his parents’ death by hiding himself in a prison and ended up learning fighting techniques from some ninjas on a snow mountain. Then Wayne went back to the corrupt Gotham city and created the batman figure to fight against the triads, and of course, saving lives of the whole town. There were a lot of fighting scenes with martial arts, which I didn’t quite understand - Why on earth did I pay money to watch batman fight with kung fu but not his hi-tech tools and tricks? However, the movie did successfully portray the human side of the hero.
It’s been raining almost everyday since I come back. Most people around me have already lost patience. I hope they will learn to appreciate rain soon because the weather forecast for the next 10 days is still rain with possible thunderstorms.

Tonight I dined with my website #1 fan in a fancy chinese restaurant called Heaven & Earth near Lan Kwai Fong. Nice deco, food was served very quickly. We spent more than 5 hours in the restaurant, chatting about everything. We were sitting near the stage where an electronic-piano player and an erhu player performed modern music. The music was so-so. When we started dinner, the restaurant was full, but towards the end, there were just the two of us, who had not really paid attention to what the performers were playing. We wondered what sort of mindset these two musicians had - were they disappointed at the lack of audience, or were they treating this as a job and did not care who’s listening?
When we asked for the bill, they started playing “What a wonderful world”. I think that was a really nice wrap up of an enjoyable dinner.
